Explanation of the Request:
Alameda Corridor East San Gabriel Valley Project was designated in SAFETEA-LU as both a National High Priority Corridor and a Project or National and Regional Significance.  It is a comprehensive grade crossing/rail corridor safety improvement project that will not only create jobs, increase mobility and move goods to and from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach which handle more than 40% of all goods coming in and out of the country, it will reduce congestion, improve air quality, and provide public safety for pedestrians and vehicle drivers.
