Congressman Dreier believes that we must be vigilant about any potential price gouging. For this reason, Congressman Dreier voted for H.R. 5253, the Federal Energy Price Protection Act, which would prohibit price gouging on gasoline, diesel fuel and crude oil while also providing for strong civil and criminal enforcement of these laws by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), states’ attorneys general and the U.S. Department of Justice. He will continue to work to ensure that consumers are protected from any unfair manipulation of oil prices.
