Appropriations Requests: FY 2010

Raymond Basin Management Board

Project Name: Foothill Water Coalition Water Supply Reliability Program

Request Amount: $1.5 million

Project Recipient:  Raymond Basin Management Board

Address:  1720 W. Cameron Ave., Ste. 100, West Covina, CA 91790

Explanation of the Request:
The WSRP offers a regional solution to southern California’s water needs, providing both the means to fill our local aquifers to capacity and move the water around the region when required.  Phase I of the WSRP includes a number of feasibility studies, interconnect projects that will be constructed and operated cooperatively to bring surplus seasonal water into local groundwater basins, replenish diminished supplies, utilize available groundwater storage and enhance the efficiency and reliability of regional raw water delivery systems.  The project study area spans the foothill and valley watersheds of the San Gabriel and San Bernardino Mountains from the City of La Canada Flintridge in the west to Rancho Cucamonga in the east.  The project was authorized in Section 5050 of P.L. 110-114, the Water Resources Development Act of 2007.
